Noreen Ahman, MA CCC-SLP
Speech Pathologist
Riffat Rehman is a licensed speech and language pathologist and the owner of Main Step Therapy. She has a masters in Communication Disorders from East Carolina University. A multilingual and multiethnic competent, she is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, Potohari and Punjabi and thus can relate to parents and caregivers that makes up today’s diverse population of Metroplex cities. She has extensive experience in working with all age groups (birth to 3, school going, adults), in variety of settings (home health, clinic, daycare centers/ ABA centers, public and private schools, rehab/ hospitals). Most of her experience however comprises of evaluation and treatment of individuals learning English as a second language. Other than being able to relate to multiple cultures, she also brings to table the perspective of a mother of 24-year-old, special needs son, who is on spectrum. Prior to her training as a speech therapist, her career started in business industry after her first masters in Business. Shortly after that, her son was diagnosed with autism. She dedicated her time to run an in-home program to supplement school for her son. She got training in TEACCH, ABA and other techniques to understand and implement the program. In 2007, she got the funding approved for her son to go to a private autism school. Once he was on track to progress, she went back to graduate school to become a speech and language pathologist. She got great opportunity to work with bilingual population in low SES campuses of Glendale Elementary School District in Arizona. In 2016, she moved with her husband and three boys to Dallas, Texas where she started working for Frisco Independent School District (Early Childhood School). In 2018, she opened her private practice. The growing diversity in student body in district, and Metroplex in general is resulting in challenges and adjustments to service delivery strategies, both for general ed and special ed. The sensitivity of culture and language is an important factor when evaluating and treating students who speak two or more languages. Recognizing the need to provide support and work directly with these families became the impetus to opening a private practice and Main Step Therapy came into being. Initially, Riffat ran the practice out of home and recently got a clinic to accommodate her caseload.
Noreen, PROMPT Certified has over 16 years of experience in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science, graduating with high honors, and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Noreen's clinical experience includes primarily school-based settings, as well as several years in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), where she has worked with individuals ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of autism, articulation and phonological disorders, receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language disorders, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), fluency, and motor speech disorders using the PROMPT approach. Throughout her career, Noreen has worked with individuals from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. As a bilingual clinician of Egyptian descent who speaks Arabic, she values providing culturally responsive, family-centered care and believes in treating the whole person rather than focusing solely on the diagnosis. Noreen's therapy approach combines evidence-based practices, interactive activities, and functional strategies that encourage meaningful progress beyond the therapy setting. A strong advocate for parent education, Noreen empowers families with practical strategies to support their child's communication, growth, and independence at home.

Michelle Vuong, earned her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University and her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Texas at Dallas. Michelle gained diverse clinical experience through rotations in private practices, outpatient clinics, independent living communities, and assisted living facilities, serving both pediatric and adult populations. She has evaluated and treated a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders, including receptive and expressive language, articulation, cognitive-communication, voice, resonance, and dysphagia. She also has experience supporting children who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Now a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, Michelle is passionate about providing individualized, evidence-based care that helps clients achieve meaningful communication goals. Her primary clinical interests include language disorders, articulation, cognitive-communication disorders, and AAC. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and listening to a wide variety of music.
Summer Rashid holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Texas at Dallas. Through her academic studies and clinical experience, Summer has had the opportunity to work in diverse settings, including private practices, clinics, and dayhabs. She has worked with both pediatric and adult populations, focusing on language disorders, articulation, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Summer’s work with pediatric clients includes helping them improve their receptive and expressive language skills, while her experience with adults extends to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), where she has provided support in improving communication, cognition, and daily living skills. Outside of work, Summer enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring nature, visiting local coffee shops, and diving into a good book. She also loves tutoring children and babysitting, which allows her to combine her passion for nurturing young minds with her love for connecting with others.

Shannon Woods earned her Master of Science in Child Life from Texas Woman’s University and is a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A). Shannon speaks English and German and is currently working toward fluency in Spanish. She is passionate about helping children build confidence and develop communication skills through play-based, individualized therapy in a fun and supportive environment where every child feels encouraged to learn and grow. With experience in pediatric healthcare settings and specialized training in child development, therapeutic play, and family-centered care, Shannon enjoys building meaningful connections with children and supporting them as they work toward their communication goals. She believes every child learns differently and strives to make therapy engaging, supportive, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths, needs, and interests. Outside of work, Shannon enjoys curling up with a good book, working on arts and crafts projects, watching crime documentaries, and spending time with her two beloved cats, Cami and Penelope.
Maitry Patel earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Texas at Dallas and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Abilene Christian University. As a multilingual clinician who speaks English, Hindi, and Gujarati, Maitry brings a culturally responsive and inclusive approach to therapy. She values building meaningful connections with clients and their families and is passionate about creating engaging, individualized sessions that help children develop communication skills and confidence in everyday settings. Maitry combines her energy, creativity, and evidence-based strategies to support each client’s unique strengths, needs, and goals. She strives to create a positive and supportive environment where every child feels encouraged to communicate, learn, and grow. Outside of her clinical work and graduate studies, Maitry enjoys exploring new places, going on weekend adventures with her family, and relaxing with a great web series in her free time.

Alisha Tahir holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and is passionate about supporting individuals across the lifespan in developing their communication skills. Through her academic studies and clinical experiences, Alisha has had the opportunity to work with pediatric clients in educational and therapeutic settings, focusing on speech sound disorders, language development, and individualized intervention strategies. She is especially interested in helping young children build confidence in their communication abilities through engaging and evidence-based therapy approaches. As she continues her professional journey, Alisha looks forward to expanding her experience and further developing her skills in the field of speech-language pathology. Outside of her professional interests, Alisha enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, exploring local coffee shops, and discovering new music, especially Bollywood and Punjabi. Clariz Pamine is a Healthcare Administrative and Operations professional at Main Step Therapy, providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to promote efficient, organized, and seamless business operations. Her responsibilities include coordinating administrative processes, maintaining documentation, supporting insurance-related activities, managing internal workflows, and assisting with team and organizational needs. With a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement, Clariz helps streamline day-to-day operations and contributes to the organization’s ability to deliver high-quality, patient-centered services. Her proactive approach, attention to detail, and commitment to operational excellence make her a valuable member of the Main Step Therapy team.
Aura Cecilia brings over 25 years of business experience and holds a degree in Business Administration. Since moving to the United States eight years ago, she has built extensive expertise in behavioral healthcare, specializing in Medicaid and commercial insurance for ABA and Speech Therapy services. As Main Step Therapy's Credentialing & Insurance Liaison, Aura oversees provider credentialing, payer contracting, single case agreements, and gap exception requests to help patients access the care they need. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she effectively supports a diverse community of patients and families. Aura is also a dedicated patient advocate, guiding families through insurance benefits, prior authorizations, claims appeals, and coverage questions with clarity and compassion. Working closely with clinical teams, she helps streamline the insurance process so patients can receive timely, uninterrupted care. Her expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to patient advocacy make her an invaluable resource for both families and providers.Bilingual in English and Spanish, Aura Cecilia connects seamlessly with a diverse range of patients and families. Her responsibilities encompass provider credentialing, payer contracting, initiating and managing single case agreements, and submitting gap exemption requests. She plays a vital role in ensuring access to care for out-of-network clients by navigating insurance intricacies with precision. With a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance, Rashmi supports streamlined revenue cycle operations while helping ensure a seamless experience for both patients and the Main Step Therapy team.
